The much awaited A3 segment car from the country’s largest carmaker, Maruti udyog limited, SX4 Sedan has finally hits the indian roads today.
The company announced two variants of car Vxi and Zxi priced in the range of 6.18 lakhs to 7.24 lakhs. Maruti SX4 Vxi model is priced at 6.18 lakhs and SX4 Zxi model is priced at 6.89 lakhs. A higher end version of Zxi (with leather pack) is also be available for 7.24 lakhs. (ex-showroom, New Delhi). By setting this competitive pricing, the car is expected to be the tough competitor for the popular models lke Honda City and Ford Fiesta.
SX4 sedan comes with an advanced next generation M Series engine of Suzuki, which will produce a maximum power of 102 bhp and also has a high torque of 145Nm @4200 rpm. Its 4 valve, 1.6 litre engine will meet the stringent Bharat IV stage emission norms and is said to be compilent with the Euro IV and V norms in future.
Maruti Udyog has claimed that SX4 sedan is the tallest, widest and longest car in the class with enough headroom and legroom and with a highest ground clearence of about 190 mm. The company also claims it to have a localisation level of 79% and its engineers worked hard in the critical areas like suspension tuning, ground clearance, engine tuning, seat comfort and interiors to make it comfortable for the Indian market.
The company has already dispatched 1500 units of the car and is set to dispatch another 500 by tomorrow. But industrial sources says, this supply will meet only part of the demand. Hence as of now, only those who have booked well in advance may get the car in this first slot. Others has to wait for little time to drive their dream car.

this car will be a hit for sure.
i completly agrees with autocrust, claiming the fact that this man on the roads amongst the sissies will be a definate hit. the car has all it needs to have to be a run away success!!! good goin maruti…..
I waited for 4 weeks after booking for SX4 ZXi and was awarded for my patience a car which was my 12th car (4th in India) and had all an international quality car should have . Its an entry level luxury car and satisfies my requirements and should definitely have good impact on car market which is flooded by Hondas and Hyundais. My previous car was also a Maruti Esteem which gave me good service had misfortune of being flooded on 26th July but was restored by Sai service and gave uninturrupted service till I decided to change for SX4 last week . However good a car maybe if not supported by good service network it is of no use. Maruti has proved that in India and its been my choice for past 4 years after I returned to India. Good work Maruti Keep it up!
Excellent Car will hit the road.

Amar ,
Can you throw some more light on this issue . have u faced any problems while installation and also does the maintainenace increase .
Since SX4 has a MPFI engine , something which I dont know much about , does it make sense to take a risk like installing a kit ?
Can u pls tell me, does ur SX4′s emission control indicator keeps glowing all the while the car is on CNG?? I am told that it a usual feature with the cars which do not have a dual fuels system, like SX4. But as per the car’s manual, the emission control wil be permanetly damaged if keeps blinking!!
PLZ…help!!
SX4 Advantage:
Good pickup
beautiful interiors.
190 mm Ground Clearance
Chilling AC
Grip on road
Concerns:
Side pillar obstructing view, rear view while reversing
CNG works fine in SX4. There are dealers who will cover warranty even after CNG fitmet however Warranty from MUL will be void in case of any such modification.
SX4 runs smooth on CNG. While driving its difficult to make out if the car is on pertol or on CNG.
can any one tell will sx4 runs on lpg pls replay
The debate will be On-Going but there is one real issue with Honda City (Old New), ground clearnce is absolutely not for Indian roads. New HCity has the same clearance as old but the company claims that they have made the shockers more powerful to handle the roads, difficult to agree with. SX4 is very promising for the same and also upgraded model will be more fuel effiecient. I will be going in for SX4 over Honda City
guys… if you are plannin to power your sx4 engine with CNG… dont think twice.. just get it.!!! i own havin sx4 zxi 2007 n really it doesnt bother me by any means.
go for sx4 with cng.
yup… you’d lose 20% of the pickup.. so what.? you are not in the race…. and A/C.?? wooo.. it works perfectly.!
