Maruti Suzuki’s new MPV (multi purpose vehicle) called Eeco is a five door vehicle. Eeco will be available in five seater and seven seater options. Eeco powered by an 1.2L  engine complies the upcoming bharat IV emission norm and returns 15.1Km to a litre of petrol (as per ARAI). The 1196ccc engine generates 73bhp of raw power at 6000rpm and a high torque of 101Nm@3000rpm. The Eeco uses the 5 speed manual transmission system with the Diagonal Shift Assistance (DSA) technology which allows for a gear change without any break in continuity of the action, thereby improving the gear shift feeling.

Interiors will not just be functional but also offer  a luxurious feel. Eeco comes with dual tone interiors – shades of beige and grey. The digital meter cluster adds to the driver convenience as well as a sophisticated feel.   The flexi design of Eeco enables the car to have 5-seater and 7 seating option. The sliding doors similar to omni will ensure easy ingress and egress of Eeco passengers. Air-conditioning could be only luxury feature of Eeco as the price would be very competitive.  Eeco would run on 155/R13LT sized tubeless tyres.

Maruti Eeco will be launched on 7th January and will be available in six exciting colours – Metallic Glistening grey, metallic silky silver,Metallic Midnight Black,Metallic Blue Blaze,Bright Red and Superior White. Expect the price of Eeco to start from Rs4 lakhs. Maruti plans to sell 40,000 units per annum.

Why Eeco?

Eeco complies upcoming Bharat IV emission norm and the Eeco is ELV (End of Life for Vehicles) compliant which means it uses Lead, Cadmium, Mercury and Chromium within permissible limits.

Prices of Maruti Eeco

* Eeco Non AC 7 seater – Rs2.78 lakhs
* Eeco AC 5 seater – Rs3.40 lakhs
* Eeco AC 7 seater – Rs3.45 lakhs

    Desparately Waiting for this Vehicle.
    This will be the first choice for Omni owners to switch over, as it’ll have AC.

    The difference between a 7 seater A/c and Non A/c is about 67 lakhs. Something to think on !

    Waiting for a family car from MARUTI since a long time. But price difference between 7/AC & 7/non AC is very unjustified.Is here any hide feature ?

    There should be different-2 varients like ALTO-LX,ALTO-LXI,ALTO-VXI.If there already are power-steering+power windos(front is enough)then the diffrence of the price is ok.

    the difference in the 7seater ac & non ac is really absurd. the versa failed because of poor fuel economy.maruti should have a diesel version of eeco which i feel would be a real succes.the higher end version with features like central locking, power windows, body coloured bumpers & ABS would have the middle class families queing up at the maruti show rooms.

    It is good vehicle to purchase for middle class family. But the company has to look the cost variation between 7 seates a/c and non a/c. What about the suspension system is it same as omni or versa. reply needed

    Following questions to suzuki,
    1.Why suzuki can not install engine layout at front ,lack of engineering knowledge?
    2.Why two different platforms rear and luggage are ?
    3.Having drive system gear at rear ,why steering effort for U required much more than alto or
    Indica petrol
    4.Why no impact beams provided at front? and why thin sheet metal strips named at side impact beams for sides ? Even Tata nano has better built side door frames at 1.6 lacs Vehicle is not so cheap to buy it costs almost 3.6 lacs on road
    5.Why mislead public 1.2L as K series which is a same 1.3L wagon R engine with reduced piston size
    6.I can understand the difficulties of suzuki engineers finding it difficult to install fiat multijet under the seat because in their whole life the have not designed on their own .
    7.why bumpy leaf spring provided at rear which behave like a Jeep at cornering
    8.Cant they provide better illumination with better quality reflector for Head lamps?
    9.Head rest is very important for rear paasenger as suuden braking will break splinals of passengers
    10.In us all japanese manufacturers are getting notice from transport ministry for not adhereing to basic safety standards .In India there is no Govt authority who can question these dumb designs of Suzuki and let off the hook for last 25 years
