Hyundai santro LPG:
Hyundai reiterated its stand and said that it will not phase out santro. Hyundai which recently rolled out its new hatchback ‘i10′ is expected to phase out the santro (which it launched in late 90s). Hyundai is currently selling around 12000 units of santro every month and recently it stopped offering of santro top end variant. Surprisinlgy, Hyundai on November 2nd said it targets to sell 5.35 lakh units of Santro (of this 50 per cent will be constituted by exports) next year. Hence it is clear that even after the introduction of another hatchback ‘i10′, it plans to sell more than 16000 santro’s every month. To achieve the ambitous target Hyundai will roll out launched LPG version of its Santro car 2008.
Hyundai people’s car:
Hyundai is developing a ‘B’ segment car which they plan to launch in india in 2009. The car could be expected to be priced below Rs three lakh, Lheem Managing Director, Hyundai Motor India Ltd said after the launch of the i10 car.”But it is still in the concept stage. From concept stage to translating into a real car, it will take four years. The car will be for both the Indian and export markets,” he said adding that it would meet all international safety and emission norms.

Hey,
Well the LPG in the Santro will surely be a good thing but i think Hyundai plans to phase out the car.
Cheers

Hyundai SANTRO can be launched with 1.1 irde with bonnet and headlamps like getz prime, body like santro zip and tailgate like palio stile ,with two tone interiors;delite, era, magna etc.
when can we expect santro cng and lpr models in hyderabad and what will be the on road price and mileage
it’s not going to work …
it will reduce the pickup and put load on engine while running the a.c on..
I have seen the Santro LPG car recently launched in Bangalore. It is good and value for money especially considering the running cost.
Taking the test drive the pick up and comfort in driving is same. Yes you do feel a slight difference once you cross 85-90 kmph speed but thats ok considering the bangalore traffic.
Hi,
I am using Santo petrol version 2007 model,Is it possible to fit company owned LPG kit in my car. Please reply.
Ajith
Better dont go 4 lpg n cng rather go 4 diesel.
Coz running cost reduces n neednot be worried abt no:of km running n fuss.
Coz CRDI is the tech which “reduces vibrations and gives better pickup”, this will happen when fuel combussion is more.As like petrol, diesel doest burn quickly, so it has less pickup.CRDI is the tech which minimises such things to happen.
SWIFT,iNDICA VISTA,PALIO……..best mixture of power fuel economy.
HYUNDAI cars are high on maintanence, and provide less space n comfort in there cars. The only big thing is they price it high for getting the psyhe of people who r brand concious.
WHATS HYUNDAI BEFORE MARUTHI,N TATA.
I got my RED SANTRO ECO GLS yesterday.
One striking defect is the conspicuous absence of Gas tank lid lock whereas the petrol tank has a remote lock & opener.
Its a must for the car esply that its a GAS and also when the car is kept parked in common areas of market theaters etc
Hi,
i would like to know when the car will be released, and description with respect to Mileage, price, special and others.
and you can add grab handles to my above list.
i just want to know the road price of santro eco gls full option and base model
which car should i prefer?
Hyundai Santro or Maruti Wagonar?
(I have budget of around 3.90 lakhs)
please answer quickly.
Hi Gaurish ,
Dont go with Wagon R.It has many problems. Its not value for money.Though Snatro is good its mentenace cost is too high. I am using chev Spark from several months. It is awesome. Its superb for city rides.. Just test ride it..

HAI,
SHOULD I GO FOR
SANTRO LPG
OR
WAGON R DUE
OR
CHEV. SPARK
KINDLY REPLY SOON
I own a WagonR Duo and find it to be a good car. The mileage is a little lesser on LPG when compared to petrol. If you’ve got a fully loaded car and running AC, there is a clear difference in performance between petrol and LPG. The big reason for me to go in for LPG is the low emission levels and the lower cost per KM.
I don’t see any advantage of the Santro LPG over the Wagon R. The specifications for both cars on their websites don’t differ, except that Wagon R is much taller (70cm taller), which is better for tall guys like me
check the comparison on this website -
http://www.carwale.com/research/comparecars/carcomparison.aspx?car1=1022&car2=1435
But I believe Wagon R has a more powerful engine, though I don’t have any evidence, except a few reviews on the net. The big plus for WagonR is the service support and the reasonable pricing for spares and maintenance.
So that’s why I decided on Wagon R.
Sir; I am deciding to purchase WagnoR LPG Rs.372393. On road Rs 389981. Why shuoud I go for Santro LPG? Please explain.

Hi
I bought SANTRO ECODRIVE in April 2009. The LPG meter was faulty from start. Got it changed. Once smelled gas, got it checked again. Having recurrent minor troubles. Average on gas is 9 in city, 11 on highway. Is it right? Flustered by hyundai response post sales.
i want to purchase lpg version of santro what,s average per litre on gas

santro..
hello pagal how r u
it will reduce the pickup..and put load on thre engine!!!!
Santro LPG gives a very poor mileage on city driving conditions. For gives me around 8 km/lit. Hyundai apparently has no experience in making non petrol variants.
Also the Santro LPG models have a very significant design problem with their clutch assemblies. The clutch assembly gets burnt very frequently. I had to replace the entire clutch assembly thrice in a period of 1.5 years. The problem still continues. None of their service-men are able to reapir it. Apparently they are incompetent to handle any such cases.
It is extremely sad that Hyundai customer service is so bad that they hardly bothered to respond to my repeated complaints. They, as usual, blame it on my driving pattern. I, also own Maruti Wagon R, also an LPG model since last 3.5 years and never had a single problem with the vehicle. Also, my Wagon-R gives me a extremey modest mileage of over 15 km on the same city conditions. I would highly recommend not to opt for Hyundai vehicles that too LPG model are a strict no-no.
The point given above by Mr.Vikas is very correct.
I am also facing the same problem with santro LPG. I have replaced clutch 2 times in one year and 3rd replacement is nearby.
As usual the car service people say that it is driving problem. But I feel there is some design problem there.
At low speeds during traffic jams, the engine speed raises abnoramlly – and you do not know what to do.
Especially in cities like Hyderabad, where traffic moves at snail speed, you can not drive without clutch plate pressed.
The Huandai car people should necessarily check this out and rectify this problem.
Thanks.
