* Maruti Suzuki will launch the indian designed A-star by October.

* Splash will follow the A-star
* There will be no diesel variant of A-star.

* Maruti Suzuki will launch a diesel variant of Splash. Splash will get the same 1.3L DDiS engine which powers swift and swift dzire.

Very well designed and well loaded informative website.

Tks for info on SX4 diesel etc.

Maruti is supposed to launch APV which was exhibited at Auto Expo 2008, New Delhi. It has 1596 CC engine. Looks a complete family vehicle.

Any info as to when the launch in India is expected??

    Regards
    Saurabh, New Delhi

  4. Alok says:

Its better Maruti localize the GV production rather looking at another entry-level SUV like Jimny

  5. murali says:

    dear sir,

its nice to have diesel cars from maruti, but,the production of the cars are not even meeting the demand of market.on each new launch of maruti cars there is a lot problems faced by the customer.

    regards,
    muralidhar,hyd.

  6. YES I KNEW ABOUT ALL THIS NEWS .
I AGREE WITH ALOK AND LIKE HE SAID, MARUTI SHOULD START LOCALISING THE GRAND VITARA AND REDUCE THE EX SHOWROOM PRICE OF THE VEH. THIS IS A GREAT CAR AND IF THEY REDUCE THE PRICE OF THIS CAR TO SOMETHING BETWEEN 9 TO 11 LAKHS THEN THIS IS GOING TO KILL THE SUV MARKET IN INDIA AND I HAVE NO DOUBTS ABOUT THAT AND I SUPPOSE EVERY ONE WILL AGREE WITH ME .

CAN ANY ONE TELL ME AS TO WHEN MARUTI IS PLANNING TO LAUNCH THE DIESEL SX4.

  7. Santhosh says:

    Hi All,

I booked a Swift Dzire LXi in March 08 and when I booked the car it coasted me 4.70 lakhs on road. I was promised that I would receive the car in a month or 15 days more than that but not more. I had taken car loan and so far paid 2 installments (I still don’t have the car). Yesterday I had to call the dealer here in Chennai to find out about my car he tells me that the car is on its way and I would receive the car in the next 5 days. I am so exited about my car that I totally forgot about the 3 months waiting period. But my excitement fell flat when he told me that the car price is gone up by another 20,000 rs. I am wondering what kind of a business is this that they put one price tag for the car at the time of the launch and when the car is about to be delivered they increase it by not one or two thousands its 20,000 rs. Please tell me how am I supposed to take this. This is my first car and I am so disappointed. Is there a legal system to stop things like this happening to people like us? Please advice.

    Regards,

    Santhosh.

    Chennai.

  9. deepak says:

I wonder why Maruti is doing nothing further on the Gypsy jeep. Why cant they introduce some variants in it ? Eg. a DDis version or a roomier design and relaunch it ….. I have driven the Gypsy in its petrol version and it felt damn neat except for its unquenchable appetite for fuel guzzling !!! I am sure a relaunch as said above will set up a cat amongst the pigeons and crate a whole new segment of interest…

  10. sachin says:

i m confused between indica vista Qudrajet…and..maruti swift vdi….which one is better in mileage and comfort..more spacious and safety…..help me to buy a car…or should i wait for A-Star….or any othr..small car…to be launched in future….

  11. chirag says:

i want to purchase midsegment car between 3 to 4.5 lakh
should i wait new launch of maruti a star when a star will launch?

  12. Vijay Bajaj says:

    Hi,

Can you let me know A-Star will be sold in India.
Other thing is comparison of Swift and A-Star as seeing the pics of A-Star, it looks equally amazing to Swift and hence not able to judge.

Please let me know which car should I go for.

    Regards
    Vijay

  16. ritesh says:

A star has finally seen on road not driven by buyer but for sale by dealers on footpaths of Bangalore ,I saw today 31.1.09 .I think A star and splash, and SX diesel will be end of road for suzuki. They are not selling in UK either.Their bread comes only from India. If some one beats their network. They will be out in ruins

  17. anish says:

as u said mr santhosh maruti hiked the price of all models due to the change in excise duty not only for dzire . and the price p[revailing at the time of invoicing is clearly showed in the booking form

requesting for a small car having 1.6cc and 120bhp

  20. varun says:

    hi

my suggestion for maruti is to launch jimmy suv with 1.6l(disel) engine and somewhat more spacious, with affordable price and also sx4 with disel engine, in the luxury suv segment it should launch vitara with disel in 13lac segement and new vitara xl-7 with price tag of 17lac…by this maruti will be having its presence all over the segements…

  21. lucky says:

The new sx4 looks like the kizashi from certain angle, interior chocolate-beige combination also looks upgraded. The car that i test drove today was a auto.It was my first drive of an automatic i just switched it to ‘d’ and the drive was effortlessly smooth, men are back again with new energy.

  25. Salooni says:

Sx4 is a luxury sedan and value for money car. Sx4 has got comfortable driving position, good seats and large boot. The NVH refinement is good. Pickup is great and braking is confidence inspiring. Go for Sx4

  26. Vaidya Swami says:

Now the Diesel SX4 has been launched. Also, suzuki Jimny may well be on the way as reported by Hindu Busines line. It’s high time that Gypsy gets an overhaul.

  27. Gautam Bhatt says:

Wow! The prediction has gone wrong! The SX4 Diesel is already in market.
