1) Hero Honda Hunk is available in four colours – panther black, fighter blue, red and silver. On the road Hunk comes at a price of Rs61,590.

2) Hero Honda Hunk is powered by an 150cc Engine, delivering 14.4PS @ 8500 RPM of power and 12.80 N-m @ 6500 of torque. Advanced Tumble Flow Induction (ATFI) helps the Hunk to provide imporved torque and higher fuel efficiency. The engines breathes through a CV carburettor and the Ignition is guided by a microprocessor. The engine is teamed with a five-speed constant mesh gearbox(1-down 4-up). Hero Honda claims Hunk can hit 60 Kmph mark in 5 seconds.

3) Hero Honda Hunk: Hunk is the first bike from Hero Honda to feature gas charged rear suspension(GRS-Gas Reservoir Suspension in Hero Honda’s term). The stepped seat offers lumbar support to the rider. Underneath the overhung rear fender is metal plates to prevent rattling.

4) Though the Hunk’s design is largely a resemblance of TVS apache. Hunk’s chrome finished 3-Dimensional ” HUNK” Emblem, gold finished front forks, silver finished central section and muscular rear cowl adds extra charm to this muscle. A bulky-looking silver heat shield bolts atop the silencer. Hunk sports contemporary five-spoke alloy rims in matt black, a theme that continues to its engine cases, silencer as well as the chain shroud. Infact, matte black panels dominates the painted panels which makes Hunk more muscular.

5) Hero Honda Hunk shares the tubular, diamond frame type chassis of the CBZ Xtreme. The dimensions are also same as the CBZ X-Treme except for the Hunk is shorter by 50mm compared to the X-Treme. Though Hunk is shorter the deep knee recess, straight handlebar and the neatly placed foot pegs offers comfortable riding position. The muscle bike is slightly heavier than others, it weighs 145kg.

6) Hero Honda Hunk features bold, chrome rimmed analog instruments includes a red back speedometer, tachometer, fuel-gauge and trip facility complement the standard warning lamps.

7) Hero Honda Hunk features 240mm disc at the front and 130mm drum brake at the rear. The bike comes with a meaty puncture-resistant and wider rear tyre. Complementing the wider tyres are 18inch larger rims. The bulged rear cowl dominates the sharp small tail lamp. Both at the rear and the front Hero Honda uses diamond shaped clear lens indicators.

I want to buy hunk. is there any new release of hunk with color variation ?

  2. parag roonwal says:

    (This is my second post)
After using this bike for 1 complete year.
    pros:
1)Average increased (Now between 40-45) after 4th free service.

2)Runs stable and doesnot vibrate on western express highway,Mumbai (esp on fly-over where u have to face wild wind) at 118km/hr (believe me or try it urself).
(this is the answer for putting plastic[in apache its metal] on both side of Fuel Tank[principal of aerodynamic].bike was not that much stable at high speed when i removed these shit looking plastic on fuel tank.
and this bike is very stable at 125km/hr on eastern express highway.

3)gear problem still there but after 5th free service improved lot(now i face it rarely).

4)what i liked about this bike most from beginning is that u can run it on 5th gear at 20km/hr.other bikes failed (esp pulsar and fZ16).this helps u in traffic(if u often get bored of changing gears).

5)seat is too big.U can keep fully loaded travelling bag between rider and person sitting on pillion seat(if he is ready to keep bag on his lap).

6)can be used roughly.can jump on speed breakers smoothly without tension at full speed.(what shown in its Ad is true)

    7)Its a heavy bike(in terms of weight).

8)And lastly what i liked most.
Many Many Many times i got bump from cars running behind my bike while in motion.but luckly i never fell down, and was able to balance well.(May be it is because of its heavy weight compared to all 150cc segment bikes).

    cons:
1)looks shit from behind.(May be overall)

2)head light is worst(not good for night riding when its too dark). But this is not a big problem in mumbai city where street lights are ON every where.

    3)No digital speedo meter.

4)If u modify it(stickers or colour),will look crap.for eg,look at hunk special edition bike- it stinks.(well this is my personal opinion).

5)big handle bar.Its difficult(little bit,but not much) to ride in between small gaps(between bus and car or whatever).

6)it is heavy compared to other bikes, reversing job is bit tedious.

7)gear shifting problem(very rarely but still exist)

    A short conclusion:
it is a rigid, sporty and complete family bike. With long lasting stable engine.A very safe and strong bike.

Remember:lastly according to me bike should be such that we should be able to use it in our daily real practical Mumbai Life…….

bussss aur nahi paka sakhta ;-)
    TC

But Do Ride all types of bikes. And have Fun.

  9. Avik says:

I am in the same dilemma as vicky…am planning to buy a new bike and am confused between hunk and CBZ xtreme….though most of the reviews of hunk are praising it still am not able to see many bikes on the road….i live in ahmedabad….i also read the pros and cons by parag written above….it shows tht there is not much problem with the bike……personally i like analog meters……

  10. vishal kalia says:

yaar can any one tell me which is the best bike for average ,look ,comfort pulsar 150 , hunk, discover, xcd…

  11. fairooz banna.pk says:

give me a feed back, hunk owners ,AND GIVE ME A PHOTO THE HUNK WITH RED ALLOY WHEEL (SPECIAL EDITION)MILAGE AND PRICE DETAILS OF HUNK TO MY ID bannafairooz@yaoo.com

but bajaj pulsar is perfect more ythan hero honda’s bikes

  12. parag roonwal says:

Guys start posting here if u bought this bike.

For people who are still confused, I would like to suggest go for this bike only and only if you have high priority for weight in your mind and a stable long lasting engine not looks(this bike will not impress girls).

cbz and hunk both have same *stable smooth engine but hunk is more stable version and is made for rough use on bad roads and for stable high speed(thats y company advertise it as muscular).
(*for which hero honda is famous[ask your local mechanic]).

Parts of bajaj are costly and confirmed engine knocking problem.(ask your local mechanic)

If you want looks go for yamaha.(confirmed bad for long ride and backache but good for flirting as there is less or no space between rider and pillion rider).
Overall this bike is good if you hate hunk.

    Apache – still mystery.

All bikes – average – your luck(depends on how you ride, traffic and piston ring).

Again i would like to comment that this is the only bike which can run on 5th gear at 20kmph smoothly(quite impressive in daily life). All other bikes turns OFF at this slow speed on highest gear.this helps u a lot in traffic.(try yourself)

  13. Jitendra says:

i want to buy a new bike in 150 cc segment. Tell me which one is the best among hunk, cbz and unicorn.

  14. Razib says:

Recently I bought a Hero Hunk, would you please tell me how much kilomitter I have to run slowly to get better performence?

  15. parag roonwal says:

    40 to 55kmph for 1 year
read above results of my bike.
below 40 ok but above 55 will create permanent marks on bore and rings..

  16. parag roonwal says:

do submit ur results here time to time
