On account of slowdown, Fiat has deferred the launch of Bravo. Fiat earlier planned to launch Bravo as part of its brand building exercise for its second innings in India. Fiat has already launched Linea and 500 cinquecento here. On June 17th it will launch the Punto. But Fiat cites the lack of interest among cars for cars which are pricied over Rs 20 lakh.  “We wanted to launch the Bravo but put it off because of poor market conditions. Anything above the C segment (mid-size cars in the Rs 7-10 lakh range) is not selling,” Mr Rajeev Kapoor, CEO, Fiat India Automobiles said.  However Fiat adds that it would launch the bravo when things begin to look up for expensive cars.

At least Fiat seems to have taken some learning after seeing how many vehicles that are hatchbacks over 10Lakhs exist in the market and how much they sell in India. Fiat 500 is their best comparison. No need to bring the Bravo and look more foolish !

FIAT India has a more than adequate lineup of cars now. The Palio, Punto and Linea take care of the entry-level, premium hatch and sedan segments, while the 500 does it’s bit well too.. [There's at least a couple of em in every city :) ]
I’d like to see the 1.6 petrol and 1.9 MultiJet engines as options in the Punto and Linea.. Would make both good fun & economical sports.. :p
