In October 2007 alone General Motors(GM) sold 1769 units of Tavera, but it cannot sit back and take rest. Competition is heating up. Tata has launched new safari and Mahindra will launch the scorpio 2.2L eagle before th end of this year. GM has to defend its territory and hence Chevrolet plans a new tavera. Don’t expect this to be all new one with CRDi engine. It will be a facelifted/upgraded/limited tavera. The facelifted tavera will have new exteriors and refreshed interiors.
Changes in exterior includes a larger grille (elongated) with a bigger Chevrolet bowtie and an elongated air dam for the new facelifted tavera. Inside the new upgraded tavera, three spoke steering wheel replaces existing two spoke. The space above the glove box is now covered in the new tavera and is made as an additional glove box. The new tavera’s central console is projected towards the driver. The new tavera also gets a new instrument panel(though gauges remains the same).

So it is Old wine in new bottle. No alterations to the engine or other specifications. Only more cosmetic work on the exterior and interior.
The Indian consumers are looking to get more for less price, so these cosmetic facelift will do no good to Chevy unless they improve on the performance and also a better look.
I own a Tavera and hence wouldnt buy another face-lifted Tavera and nor would recommend anyone to go for this…
If only they put the Engine of Optra Magnum Diesel on this. Tavera would be one hell of a Performance Car.

We purchased GM, CHEVROLET, TAVERA, SS-D1 2500 cc for Rs: 10, 22000. On /2007 from the Dealer -Chennai. This vehicle has driven for Just 12000 K M Only. We have Never Seen this worst Performance Vehicle in its Class & Lower. Do you Believe it Or no Driving any Vehicle Will Increase The Pleasure To Drive it But In CHEVROLET TAVERA SS-D1 2500 cc Vehicle will increases the BLOOD PRESUR thus who drive it . Just Imagine Even Spending Rs: 10, 22000 for TAVERA SS-D1 {Top End Model}.
Sir, we can’t use this vehicle because of this Following reasons,
1. Worst Mileage
2. High Engine Noise & Vibration, Inside the Cabin (we can’t even drive the vehicle safely)
3. Hard Suspension & Noises
4. Hard Power Steering
5. Bull cot Smoothness,
6. Worst Performance & Pick Up, is like we can’t compare this with any vehicles
7. Dangerous Driving.(which can kill users very easily )
8. General Motors has sold me a NON – Value – Product (The Value an Quality is Not Matching) Because of this Problems I am Badly Suffering From
1. we can’t even keep Our Eyes On road and we have Highly Risk Accident while Driving.
2. Sleep Less / I can’t Sleep at night {the basic need for human been}
3. I have to take sleeping tablet to sleep. {why should I suffer for GM}
4. This has increased my Blood Presser
GM`s After Sales & Service Manager for South India, is asking us then Who told to Buy & Why Did u Buy This Vehicle. He says that we Had a test Drived a Demo Tavera Vehicle an u Bought this- But What GENERAL MOTOR is doing they Specially Service the Demo Vehicle an give for Test Driving to Customers an Cheating Consumers. We Requested GM to Change the Vehicle there is no Response from them.
These problems are not rectified by the General Motors Company, Engineers & When we call To Consumer Care Help Line, After Sales & Service, Department they don’t atten my call an I Called the Manufacturer Company & Marketing Head Office an they say to call customer care an we call them they don’t response us say that they don’t have any right to solve the problem & finally they gave a E-Mail ID to write a letter. We mailed several letter to gmi.cac@gm.com & made STD Calls to Manufacturer Company & Marketing Head Office there is no response from them.
This is a New Vehicle (The main thing is Tavera SS-D1 is not Value – for – Money, Vehicle. GM Knows this an making this vehicle to Steal Money from Consumers {General Motors is stealing our Nation’s Economy in the Name Of Business or Tavera} this Vehicle is not Value for Rs. 10,22000 & + We are Confused, What should we do to get our Rights & Value from the General Motors Tavera Is a Economical Wast Waste Pls DONT BUY ANY GENERAL MOTOR VEHICLE Bcoz GM Over Value thair Product an Selit in Market

Gm says to invest 2 to 300 cr in the country as capital to Manufacture other Models an sell through out the ASIAN MARKET
