Still can’t fly – spoiler:
The next accessory which is sported in almost every car from Ambassadors (no kidding) and Lamborghinis is a rear spoiler. These are usually made from reinforced carbon fibre. Unlike a rear wing in a Bugatti Veyron, the one you see in Indian cars grip only your attention (pun intended, again). For obvious reasons, people usually stick to smaller but very stylish ones. As some cars come with factory-fitted spoilers, the aftermarket ones are usually made as novel as possible. Fitting a parking lamps in the spoiler usually makes it looks like a factory fitted one (no matter how ridiculous it is.
Ford Fiesta – spoiler
The type of cars that work well with spoilers are only seen in race tracks, but on the road sedans are your best bet. Longer as they usually are rear wings make the car stand out. But in most cases if it is smaller and subtle it does not win as many hearts. It is a neat accessory, no doubt, but doesn’t really steal the show. The health trend of the manufacturer offering customizations has started to catch up albeit in a small way. In the fiesta seen below, the spoilers are spot on and lends a slightly sporty look to the car. The finish is perfect(courtesy Ford India) and does not hinder by protruding out of the car.
Maruti Suzuki Swift – Spoiler
The Swift is one of the few cars which lookes factory-made for customization. First of all there is a lot of space on the body to experiment with. The spoiler seen here works well with most hatchbacks. And wherelse can you mount a spoiler on a small car. But do keep in mind that if you get ambitious and fit a bigger spoiler you will have to worry about it in every traffic jam. So subtlety is the key for small cars.
The way the spoilers are fitted to the car themselves tell a whole new story. Fitting them close to the centre and tall, either highlights the spoiler, in a good way or bad. A little farther from the centre and slanting towards the rear make the car look dynamic and in some cases sleek. Choosing a spoiler can be one of the toughest decision you had to make if you are not satisfied by the tried and tested options. So we are refraining from offering you any hard and fast rule about choosing or using them, because you’ll see people who’ve made good choices looking doubtful and people with terrible taste swearing by theirs.

Hi, Could you please let me know the cost of Swift’s real spoiler and where can we get it?
where can i get a body kit for 4 door suzuki swift
Hi,
Very informative article.IT is absolutely true.
Hi,Could you please tell me the cost specifically?
Yikes saw this post very late. The photos of the swift seem to be of the “Sport” version sold in Europe which comes with the dual exhaust and spoiler and a 1.6L engine. Now wish Maruti would bring that here.
I have the Swift ZXI and the MGA parts cost around 6500 for the spolier. You can get it cheaper if you bargain hard. A body kit is available from Maruti but is not the best looking. Check out the large thread on Swift Modifications on Team-BHP for more details. http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/modifications-accessories/8806-swift-mods-post-all-queries-pics-swift-modifications-here.html

Aide from being your car accessory, spoiler is an automotive aerodynamic device whose intended design function is to ’spoil’ unfavorable air movement across a body of a vehicle in motion.
