Bajaj XCD Sprint 150cc

It’s one of the biggest scoops we ever informed you. Sources close to Bajaj Auto tells us that to meet the new competetiors like Apache RTR FI, Yamaha FZ16 and Suzuki GS150R, Bajaj is planning a new 150cc motorcycle. The new bike would be called XCD sprint, yup, you read it right! the same one which was showcased at the Delhi Auto Expo. But the only difference from what showcased at the Delhi Auto expo and actual XCD sprint is the engine. Seeing the new arrivals, sources tells us Bajaj has changed the strategy. and will launch the XCD sprint with the 150cc engine not the 125cc one. According to Bajaj, “It is determined to accelerate the growing popularity of 125cc+ motorcycles. Towards this purpose Bajaj will launch a new sport motorcycle in December, the third of four products off the XCD platform.”
XCD sprint will be fitted with a 150cc DTS-Si engine developing max power in the range of 14-16bhp. XCD Sprint’s modern styling will help the bajaj to take on the new arrivals especially the Yamaha FZ-16. Pulsar 150cc will co-exist with the new XCD sprint 150cc. XCD sprint 150cc will hit the market in December 2008 and is expected to be priced around Rs65,000.
Update: Few media reports claim Bajaj will soon come out with a 135cc version of XCD sprint which is developed under the codename ‘L1′. The media report further claims that Bajaj is working jointly with its Austrian partner KTM for XCD sprint 135cc. Anyway, expect a performance bike from pulsar maker this december 2008.

not a penny worth news from bajaj,thanks to the guys of this blog who bring such important news to common people.this is bajaj old strategy TO FOOL PEOPLE AROUND.i tell u THE NEW XCD WILL BE FITTED WITH PULSAR’S 150 CC ENGINE AS THERE HARDLY REMAINS ANY MARKET FOR PULSAR 150CC DUE TO APACHE AND HONDA STUNNER WHICH HAS MORE LOOKS AND POWER THAN PULSAR.NOW THEY R SAYING THAT PULSAR WILL CO-EXIST,but within 6-8 months from the launch of xcd-sprint150cc, the pulsar 150cc production will shut down & as far 135cc xcd is concerned,it will based on discover engine.BASIC THING ‘OLD WINE IN NEW BOTTLE’,WITH COSMETIC CHANGES AND HIGHER PRICES.
it s a great news in my view because i feel almost everyone got tired of seeing that pulsars on streets,,all the models look similar right from 150,180,200 to 220..so atleast there will be a new bike on the streets now..
Officially Bajaj Auto has already said that there will be three more variants on the XCD platform..
The first one, the Platina 125 DTS-Si is already launched.. The remaining two will come in December 2008 and probably by Feb 2009.
But 150 cc XCD..?? I definitely don’t think so.
A proof along with the article would have been nice.
I hope this is not like the Chevrolet Aveo facelift news that you guys put up on the site a while back, which turned out to be the wrong car. I love reading your blog, but I wouldn’t like to be reading wrong or news that can be labeled as speculations.

SO.. whether Bajaj XCD 125 CC is coming or not?? I was planning for it, as I was looking for a smaller ones taking concern of my height and weight. Just thought that I can hav this small(125CC) ones, with all features (self start, mileage, disc brake, alloy wheel). Seems my requirement not going to match because of 150CC : (

i just wanted to make Aryan aware(blog right at the top) that all companies launch their products with the same engine that they already have….Look at HERO HONDA for eg.. CBZ EXTREME, HUNK, for that matter UNICORN all share the same engine so your theory of
“BASIC THING ‘OLD WINE IN NEW BOTTLE’,WITH COSMETIC CHANGES AND HIGHER PRICES.” doesn’t apply to BAJAJ only all other manufactures do the same thing…i think you are not a BAJAJ fan.
xcd sprint like bike with split seat is seen in bajaj s official reengineered website.
guess this year will ride it on the street.

To a gr8 extent,what u said is true. But what matters most is The consisitency and quality in terms of offering to the customers.

I go with aryan.the new xcd 150 is damn going to be powered by the pulsar 150cc engine.the only difference will be the pulsar 150cc engine wasn’t an anodised aluminium engine. it was plain aluminium.the xcd 150 will have the black anodised engine plus an engine kill switch instead of the ride control.
the looks are enough for the high demand its going to get
