Bajaj to launch new Pulsar

Not even God can understand Bajaj’s strategy! After axing Pulsar 200cc and XCD 125, Bajaj is now planning to relaunch the new pulsar and XCD sprint soon. A new Pulsar will be launched in next 15 days. Very recently Bajaj has downgraded its flagship product pulsar 220cc DTS-Fi to DTSi and priced it very competitively. Now it seems like Bajaj would rejigs its portfolio again. Bajaj has started teasing a new pulsar at goodbyetraffic.in. The teaser website says with the new pulsar says goodbye to traffic

Pulsar being the flagship product of Bajaj is never going to be ignored either by the Bajaj or by the market for long time, here comes the all new Pulsar in its typical “Definitely male” avatar.

Somehow, I smell something fishy in this website. For once, the pulsar tank is very similar to the tank of XCD 135 and the front indicators are placed on handlebars like the XCD 135. Then, if looked closely, the engine block does not seem to be of 150cc and infact the cast is similar to that of DTS-Si engine. Even the exhaust pipe is slashed like that of XCD 125. And ofcourse, the headlamp is a lift from XCD Sprint. The front disc brakes are from Pulsar 220. Bajaj may be a bit hap hazard but I dont think that they would want to spoil their flagship in such a bad way.
Like Sameer said, I don’t think the tank looks like the XCD 135, it looks more muscular like the Pulsar tank.
I hope that this new bike is a 135 cc Pulsar with a lower price. It will be tempting product for me to buy.
Its a Pulsar 135…same as we all saw in Auto Expo two year back…in a name of XCD Sprit.
this upcoming model of P135 has a same silencer as of XCD 135….meter console of D135…
and yes Tank Scoops are of XCD 135…with slightly change
I was just thinking of a 125 cc bike. If this is really a Pulsar 135, I will blindly buy it.
Looks like a hybrid between Pulsar and XCD Sprint.Pulsar’s body with XCD’s fairing and silencer.I guess this must be the one with a 4-valve DTS-i/DTS-Fi engine shown in auto expo 2008 with some changes.
I am sorry. Actually I was referring to the tank scoops that look like the XCD Sprint/135. The tank is certainly Pulsar. But this does not seem to be a good ploy by Bajaj. First, they bring Discover to 100cc making D135 look like funny and now if they actually bring the Pulsar below 150cc, I dont how it be met by Pulsar fans.
I am a myself Big Pulsar fan but I have limited myself to a sub 150 cc bike. If this bike really turns out to be a Pulsar 135 cc, then it fits perfectly to me!
The Discover will be bought by a different set of customers looking for a sober and decent styled commuter bike but this new Pulsar 135 (I pray to God that its really is a Pulsar 135) will appeal to young at heart bikers like me.
I hope that Bajaj will price this bike attractively.
