As part of Bajaj Auto’s six months six bikes plan, it will launch a mass motorcycle on 12th of July. The new bike would be also called as Discover (codenamed as DiscoverM or Discover K70). The new discover would come with an engine displacing between 100 and 110cc. The power and torque ratings are not known. The new Disover would be priced around Rs45,000 and compete against the Hero Honda’s Splendor plus and Hero Honda Passion plus.

Discover comes under the DTS-i platform,not DTS-Si.I guess Sonic which was showcased at the 2006 auto expo will be launched with the DTS-Si engine.If Bajaj is pricing the bike at 45K,it will be 125cc.Bajaj is planning a 100cc bike called Steel priced around 25-30K

Bajaj is following a very good strategy…Bring a product,create a buzz,sell the product till people discovers the truth…and then come again with some other poduct..Except pulsar it has no product which can compete in the market…Always banking on low cost material supply has made bajaj a secondary choice for people..I know none who has purchased a bajaj bike again….even not me..
Whatever product they bring they have not able to correct few distinctive problems, like gear box noise, chain & spocket problem, engine noise which are key attributes of a product…Their servicing is very pathetic that the reason i prefer private workshops rather than going to bajaj worksop….
anyway people are still not very much quality conscious, go for a product with a little less bucks and end up buying a junk product as i did few years ago…

hope this time bajaj brings a better product and hopefully better looking then ugly XCD’s
