The Pulsar 200 is powered by a 198.8 cc engine, delivering 18 bhp power (130 km/hour) whereas the Pulsar 220 is powered by a 220 cc engine, which generates 21.04 bhp of peak power(144 km/hour).

To compete with the products in the premium bikes category like Yamaha FZ16, Fazer and R15, Hero Honda’s Karizma, TVS Apache 180 and the Honda CBF Stunner, Bajaj Auto has reduced the price of Pulsar 220 by more than Rs 15,000, so that it is now available at Rs 70,000, ex-showroom.

All the three models of Pulsar, Pulsar 150, Pulsar 180 and Pulsar 220 have gone through a face-lift labelled as the ‘2009 edition’.

This was expected. The Pulsar 200 costs around 75K while the new 220 around 80K.People won’t mind paying 5 grand extra to buy a 220 instead of 200.
Prospective 200 buyers, this is your last chance.Better go to the nearest probiking showroom before the last stocks are drained out and become part of an exclusive club.
the 2009 Pulsar 220 can be considered as an upgrade to the Pulsar 200. increase of 20 cc, 3 Ps and that half fairing with projector lamps.
at 5 grand more, the Pulsar 220 does make more sense.
with common parts shared between the pulsars, finding spares won’t be an issue. But yes, the Pulsar 200 will become a very EXCLUSIVE model.
