Bajaj Avenger 220cc in already available select cities and is being dispatched to others. As we reported few day back, Bajaj Avenger 220cc is the big launch from pune bike maker after Discover 150cc. Bajaj Avenger is only affordable cruiser available in the market. Yet, Bajaj keeps updating constantly to make it contemporary. The new Avenger 220cc borrows the engine from pulsar 220cc but comes with different ratings. The 220cc under the tank of Avenger 220cc develops 19.03PS at 8400rpm and peak torque of 17.5Nm at 7000rpm. The 4 -stroke,single cylinder DTSi engine displacing 219.89cc is air cooled with oil cooler. The mill is not fuel injected. Apart from the engine, nothing has changed both mechanically and visually. Only few body graphics here and there are the differentiators. Avenger 220cc continues to run 90/90 17″ tyres at front 130/90 15″ at the rear.Yet, they are not tubeless. Avenger features 260mm disc brake at the front and 130mm drum at the rear. Despite the new engine, Avenger 220cc weighs just 1/2 kg more than the Avenger 200cc. Bajaj Avenger 220cc is priced Rs69,930 (ex-showroom Delhi).

Inevitable really.. Why is the torque so low? Cruisers should have more torque than power… And with the P220 @ 19.12, I didn’t expect such a drop, 17.5Nm?! But, else, should have fantastic bottom/mid-range I hope… Price is nice
Bajaj should have the FI optional as well. I’ve had a go at the new P220, but the response is nowhere close to my DTS-Fi. I’m glad I got mine earlier. I’d rather have superfast throttle response than 1 more horsepower..

I want purchase a new avenger 220cc (black) on new year 2011 but I am very confused because of this bike start with only switch not a kick option in this bike. As I know moslty bike & scooter which is start with switch they are creat a trouble specially time of wintterday so pleased suggest FACT.
Hey dude!! ive already booked my bike this 29th dec. believe me only electric start is not a problem. One of my friend has avenger in delhi, the climate is not good over there even then bike shows execellent performance.
