Premier Rio

Though nothing seems to be too much special, what is special about the vehicle is the fact that the compact SUV’s total size exclusive of the rear mounted spare wheel measures 4 Meters, which means that the Rio is actually a small car. The dimensions actually are that of a small car, hence customers will be availed of a Small Car Tax Concession and more importantly, the price of the vehicle is less than that of some of the most purchased SUVs. The price ranges somewhere above the Rs. 5.25 lakh mark. Price of the vehicle is expected to go below the 4 lakh mark as Mini-SUVs proliferate to higher numbers.
The Premier has gone for the Chinese way of doing things. Zotye Group is a partner of this venture. Probably, they are the main contributors to this price slashing! The re-advent of the Premier in a completely different angle is the one that will set the ball rolling for a bigger revolution and change. That is why Rio as a Mini-SUV is a special vehicle.

Premier takes the pride in being the first to have made a Mini-SUV which others will follow suit.

In the Picture: Technical diagram of an unknown SUV. Our spy photographers are yet to spot the Mahindra’s unnamed mini suv

SEE THIS A SKECTH OF WELL KNOW WORLD FAMOUS – LINCOLN NAVIGATOR SUV, AND ITS NOT a MINI SUV

      THNKS

Ford should relaunch its Fusion with Diesel engine and must-to-have ABS and Air bags at reasonably reduced B segment price. Then, certainly it will be a success. Customers’ feedback should be taken into account immediately rather than delaying the action and letting the vehicle become extinct, unnecessarily. Ford was really lethargic as far as Fusion was concerned to act on customers’ feedback. Even now, it is not too late. Will Ford wake-up?

  4. Jim Gorde says:

That “technical diagram of an unknown SUV” is a manipulated Lincoln Navigator…

Anyway, hope we see more mini-SUVs that come with rear wheel drive and in a more affordable price bracket.. Mahindra can do it, they have the platform and who on earth wouldn’t want to see the return of the classics… CL550 or Major anyone?? :)

mini suv should not be as mini as the definition of small car called nano,no matter if price goes upto 7lakhs, & I could not understand how a suv would be of only 4lakhs, standards of suv should be maintained

  6. Ganesan says:

Yes A mini SUV / MPV is a urgent need. No car ( except Fusion, which is branded as failure ) is there now. Convenience of Hatch back, comfort of MPV, SUV kind of maneuver in Indian roads – we need a MINI SUV ? MPV.

To cater the middle class ( lot is available for luxury ), Less than 4m, 5 seater, 500 lts boot, 175 mm ground clearance, bucket seat comfort, 75 hp, 100 NM torque, 17 kpl minimum milage Masculine modern look, ABS / Airbag safty features from a quality company like M & M, TOyota, Maruthi, TATA, Hyundai will be nice.

My shortlists are Toyota Urban Cruiser / Avanza, Modified Gypsy / Gimmy, Mini Xylo, mini Safari etc.

Hope before end of 2010, we will have some, like a lot has come for hatch back in 2009.
