TVS Akula 310 Review
TVS has finally showcased its Akula 310 concept two wheeler at the Auto Expo Event 2016 held at Greater Noida. The word Akula indicates “Shark” in Russian and it is expected to be a preview of the first full faired bike from TVS Motors which is really good news for the Indian people.
Design and Style
Akula 310 looks very aggressive and its design is really outstanding at the front. It consists of a large fuel tank which is ideally chiseled and the front fairing features a carbon fiber finish. The bike is well incorporated with several lightweight components which is quite outstanding. Some of its highlighting features include a fully digital instrument console, steering damper, on board gyro cameras, USD forks, radial calipers, force fed air box and many more.
When it is talking about its seating arrangement, it comes with a single seat option with a tiny backrest giving a comfy ride to the rider. A free flow exhaust is offered at the rear and the red skeleton can be partly viewed from the rear three quarter. With some features, the new TVS Akula 310 seems to be a MotoGP racer. The vehicle comes with a Michelin Pilot tyres offering tremendous grip on the tracks. It gives much flexibility to the rider without jeopardizing dynamics with the help of an aluminium sub frame and cast iron swing arm.
For better aerodynamic appearance, the bike gets dorsal fin beneath the seat that also gives the Akula 310 a sporty and edgy looks. TVS Akula 310 will provide the wheelbase of around 1364mm and it has the front tire size of 120/70-17 and rear tire size of 160/60-17.
Engine Details
TVS Akula 310 is offered with a race tuned 4V DOHC, 310cc, single cylinder engine which may generate 33.6bhp at 9500rpm power and 28Nm at 7500rpm torque mated to a six speed gearbox. This powerful engine will get fuel injection and liquid cooling technology for better fuel efficiency. Along with that, the bike features a space frame chassis supporting closed loop three stage catalytic converter. It has a heat management system which is etched into the bodywork using some clever design.
Verdict
At the Auto Expo Event 2016, this bike got NDTV Best Concept Bike Award. If TVS Akula 310 launched in India, it will compete with its similar other bikes such as KTM RC 390, Kawasaki Ninja 300, Benelli TVT 300i and Yamaha R3. So, people are eagerly waiting for the arrival of new Akula 310 and it will enter into Indian market with a price range of Rs.2.00 lac respectively.
