Tata Indica Vista Review

The Tata Indica was first launched in 1998 with extraordinary features and specifications which provides stunning appearance. It comes with powerful engines, bigger and better interiors along with enhanced quality compared to its competitors. The Vista is available in various attractive colours with various models. It gives an unique appearance among the hatchbacks. The price of the tata indica vista is also very reasonable but it may vary according to the places. Overall, Vista gained the name of a family look car and satisfies the Indian people.

Engine

The engine of Tata Indica Vista is powered by the 1.2L Safire 65 petrol engine with Multi Point Fuel Injection System. Actually, it comes with four different engines such as petrol and diesel engine options. It is important to note that six variants comes in petrol option and another six are diesel powered. It delivers the maximum power of about 65 PS @ 5500 RPM and maximum torque of 96 NM @ 3000 RPM respectively. The petrol variant of the car comes with four cylinder 1.4L Safire 90 engine delivering 90 PS @ 6000 RPM power along with the displacement of 1368cc. Similarly, it offers the maximum torque of about 116NM @ 4750RPM. The diesel variants of the Vista is powered by a 1.4L, Turbo Inter-Cooled engine which delivers the power of nearly 71 PS @ 4500 RPM and torque of 135 NM @ 2500 RPM. One more engine type for the diesel variant includes 1.3L, 1248cc, Quadrajet, SDE Common Rail Diesel engine which is able to deliver power of about 75PS @ 4000RPM and torque of 190 NM @ 1750 RPM. The quadrajet engine is good at delivering high engine performance with extraordinary fuel efficiency.

Colours

The colours available for the Vista includes Artic Silver, Mint White, Infinity Black, Arctic Silver, Solar Orange, Marine Silver, Porcelain White, Gala Red, Cavern Grey etc. These colours are very attractive and catchy.

Acceleration, Mileage and Fuel Economy

Since the Vista comes with the quadrajet engine, it is definitely a fuel efficiency car. The Tata Indica Vista TDI engine produces 13kmpl mileage in city and 17kmpl on highways whereas the quadrajet engine delivers 15kmpl in urban roads and 18.5 to 22.3kmpl on highways. The saffire engine of the car delivers 12kmpl in city and 16.7kmpl on highways. The acceleration of the car is also too good in which the petrol engine gives the good acceleration to touch the 100kmph to 146kmph mark in 18.36 seconds and the diesel engine delivers excellent acceleration to cross the 100kmph mark in 16.4 seconds and to touch the top speed mark of 148kmph respectively.

Design and Comfort

Interiors

The interior of the Vista is very spacious packed with impressive dual tone Ebony Black and Sahara Beige interiors with dual tone beige dashboard. The dashboard of the car is fitted with an advanced instrument cluster which enriches the style of the interiors. It consists of fully fabricated seats, dual tone dashboard, stylish gear shift knob, central console finish etc. The comfy features includes hydraulic power steering, powerful AC with heating ventilation and AC, front and rear power windows, integrated audio system, lumbar support on front seats, height adjustable driver seat, 60:40 split and completely folding rear seats etc. In addition to the above, it comprises light intensity adjustment for instrument cluster, pen holder, coin box and card holder, power outlets, rear wipers, rear wind screen demister. It has an excellent audio system with USB, Aux and Bluetooth connectivity which is possible to connect 5 phones simultaneously. The foldable type rear seat gives more space for luggage.

Exteriors

The exterior appearance of the Indica Vista is really gorgeous and stylish. While comparing with its previous cars, it offers more trendy look with its aggressive front chrome grille and large stylish four barrel head lamps with clear lens fog lamps. The exterior features which enhances the appearance includes body coloured bumpers, chrome plating for exhaust pipe, front fog lamps, stylish full wheel covers, body coloured door handles, body coloured ORVMs, Rb Rail and roof antenna. It is a five seater car with 3795mm in length, 1695mm in width and 1550mm in height respectively. Its wheelbase is measured as 2470mm with 165mm ground clearance and 5m minimum turning radius. The Vista is available with steel wheels fitted with puncture resistant radial tubeless tyres offering great off-roading capability with it.

Braking and Handling

The Vista is well fitted with Vacuum Assisted, Independent Dual Circuit Diagonal Split Hydraulic brakes which enhances the safety. The front wheel is made with disc brakes whereas the rear wheels with drum brakes which de-accelerate the car very fast. The Vista comes with many advanced safety features for both driver and passangers which includes central locking with keyless entry, three point ELR seat belts, warning buzzers, child lock, engine immobilizer, ABS, EBD, dual front airbags and LED high mount rear stop lamp.

Distressing car in the segment

Actually I am totally unhappy with the vehicle Tata Indica Vista and it is the most pathetic car which i have experienced worst service after sales. At the beginning of the purchase, it is working in a good condition, but later the headlights are not offering enough light. Once crossed 26000 kms the interiors started rattling and the fuel sensor has stopped working more than two times. Apart from that, the car sometimes vibrates at the speed between 100-120 kmph from the beginning of the purchase. I gave it for service more than three times but they dealers are not able to rectify the problems. I recommend everybody not to go for Tata products and it is better to choose Maruti instead. Thanks.

Sportive and Powerful car

Hi everybody, I bought a new top end variant of Tata Indica Vista at a price around Rs.6.82 lakhs but i personally felt it is quite reasonable. The car is well known for its strong and sturdy engine for better performance. Its cabin is really spacious and packed with high class features which would definitely impress the attention of the people on roads. Actually, the top end variant is fitted with automatic air conditioning system ABS with EBD, advanced driver information system. Its look is really attractive both on exteriors and interiors. All these features altogether makes everybody to purchase the car without any hesitation.

Decent car for a decent price

I am using Tata Indica Vista for the past few years. I think its look and style is too good and it has comfortable, spacious cabin which can accomodate five persons easily. The body roll of the car has to be reduced with decent pick up. The vehicle can deliver an attractive mileage of around 14 kmpl in city roads with AC and 18 kmpl on highways. According to me, the best features are interior space and braking system. It needs to improve on its cabin noise, plastics and ride quality. Totally, it is too good as expected.

Issues on car tyre

Eventhough Tata Indica Vista gives a decent look and style the tyres could be more broad. It always gives some problem and it gets worn out easily as well as power steering must be electronic and not hydraulic which is not good in the car. But the cabin space is really good and comfy offering a pleasurable driving experience. One of the important thing is that it is very economical as compared to other cars price and it would be really good for long drive.
