Review on Suzuki Gixxer

Suzuki has been the success in the segment of 150 cc motorcycles. However ,it has plans to set its footprint even in the domestic crowd,by offering the commuters a powerful bike at an affordable rate. This plans gets executed with the launch of Suzuki Gixxer. As to keep the promise of offering the bike at lower cost, certain features have been cut down in form of of silencer with twin exhausts, mono shock at the rear and digital meter console, that gets replaced by the of silencer with twin exhausts, mono shock at the rear and digital meter console.

STYLING CUES:

New Gixxer in the 155cc segment really proves to be worthful workout carried out by the Suzuki. It gives such a sporty and eye-catchy appeal.all this credits goes to the features that include elegant alloy rims, chunky tyres and charcoal black highlights.Bikini front fairng reflects the appliance of Suzuki's design traits.Creases and streaks that run along the tank gives it a neat touch.Further finely styled conical exhaust canister with chrome accents and dual outlets is the star of the package. The headlight looks odd. Six spoke wheels on the Gixxer also accenturate the design further. The mudguard can be removed if not needed. Stability is achieved through the means of fat tyres, fork and rear suspension.Gixxer is muscular but minimal.

Instrument Console:

Instrument Console comprises of all-needed facilities like speedometer, a bar type fuel-gauge, gear indicator, useful clock and even a rev redline warning flasher.Even the eco and power modes are available which remains to be unnoticed. All such features gets compacted within an LED display, that gives us the feel of looking at a smartphone.Judicious design of the headlamps gives a good rear sight. There is the presence of engine-kill switch which is a pass-light flasher,as a part of the package. When you start the bike,it says "Ready Go",which is an interesting thing. With the provision of solitary turn indictors on both the sides, one can come to know when you’re reaching the limit that starts around at 8000rpm,with the white color RPM light.

ENGINE AND PERFORMANCE:

The 155 cc engine which has been set to power up the bike seems to be so smooth and flexible. It also tends to possess the best-in class NVH ,thus no vibration is being felt throughout the rev range. Since the concentration is at producing horsepower oriented engine with which the bike picks up momentum very quickly giving up to 90-95 km/hr even at short shifting, throaty sound that comes as a result of torque becomes unnoticed. Top speed comes up to 115km/hr,if not, then there should be a speedo error. Hoewver the engine doesn’t look so peppy as like that of how should Suzuki engine be.This only seems to be the criticizing point. Mileage comes up to 5okm/l,but when it comes with the twisty road conditions, you can get only up to 31kmpl even when you’re gearing at the fourth level.

RIDING AND HANDLING:

Comfortness have been provided at the upright seating position. Hats off to the well-positioned rearset footpegs and well-cushioned seat that makes us feel relaxed and tireless even over long journeys. There is enough space at the footpegs that helps one to move around the corners. Protective mudguard over both the wheels works well against the wet weather conditions. The short wheelbase and kerb weight of 135 kgs gives the bike a really dynamically rich look. More you work out on the handlebar to accelerate, the more you gain the triple digit speed, thus the grip levels are very good to handle on. Even on riding on the wet conditions, one don’t have to be panic ,since the confidence level comes from the chassis.Suspension set is not so proper however low damping has been tuned up in a way that won’t let you down. Rear drum is well calibrated in a sense not to lock up, but it is very hard to operate.

Verdict:

Returning with the maximum mileage of 63.5 km/l,Gixxer proves to be powerful,fuel-efficient and potent bike.It reveals out its sportiness at the same time it never fails to give a dynamic rich look and excellent ergonomics. With all such affordable factors,it arrives at the justifiable price tag of Rs 72,200,ex-showroom Delhi. There is no doubt that Gixxer will hit the success for long term thus assuring good times ahead of Suzuki.
