Review on Piaggo Ape Truck
Piaggo Vehicles Pvt Ltd, pioneer of light transportation solutions in India introduced a truck christened as
“Ape truck” a 4-wheeler cargo that well suits the small scale business scale.
Build and Styling:
It's like that of
Vespa with two rear wheels and a cabin. It is not meant for frill-construction, since it is targeting the small-sized business man. Both the size and the dimensions makes the Ape looks cute. The Ape's cab is designed to be spacious like a car, offering ample leg room, adjustable bucket seats and even a factory fitted co-driver's seat as standard. Greater stability is gained through the means of the
wheelbase measuring 1750 mm and
ground clearance of 4mm.The fuel tank has the capacity of holding up to
28 litres.It has the
gross vehicle weight of 1000kg.It is available in the color shades of Western Red and Sahara Yellow.
Engine and Efficiency:
The Piaggo Ape truck is powered up by Twin Cylinder DI, 4-Stroke, Naturally Aspirated, Indirect Injection water cooled engine ,with displacement measuring up to
870cc.The maximum power of
12.67 KW at 3600 RPM and
torque of 43.5 Nm gets transmitted to the rear wheels via the transmission unit consisting of 5 forward and 1 reverse
syncromesh gearbox. With the aid of hydraulic dual Circuit TMC Self Adjustment brake type ,one can halt the engine quickly even at the high speeds. The suspension system sports out McPherson strut with coils, Hydraulic Double acting telescopic shock absorbers at the front and Twin beam cross arm with rubber bumper , hydraulic double telescopic shock absorber at the rear end. It is suitable for quick deliveries.

Arriving at the price tag of
Rs 1,74,000(ex-showroom,Delhi),it is designed to compete with its rival Tata Ace.
