Nissan Micra Diesel Review

The leading manufacturer Nissan has introduced its new diesel-powered base Micra XE model in an attractive price tag of Rs.5.57 lakh. The car is available in various vibrant colours such as Olive Green (new), Turquoise Blue (new), Blade Silver, Storm White, Onyx Black and Brick Red. The other variants of the car includes Nissan Micra Diesel XL, Nissan Micra Diesel XL Optional, Nissan Micra Diesel XV, Nissan Micra Diesel XV Premium etc.

The diesel variant of the car is powered by a performance packed K9K, 1.5 litre, single over head camshaft based in-line diesel engine which consists of four cylinders and eight valves in it. The Micra Diesel XE engine has a displacement 1461 cc with a common fuel supply system and it delivers the peak power of 65 BHP @ 4000 RPM and peak torque of 160 NM @ 2000 RPM with a five speed manual gear box transmission. These ensures less noisy and smooth ride with the mileage of around 23.08 kmpl. This hatchback can be able to cross the barrier of 0-100 kmpl in just 13.36 seconds with the maximum speed of about 150-160 kmph.

The entry level variant Micra Diesel XL has been fully packed with features such as keyless entry, manual air conditioner, outside body coloured door handles and rear view mirrors, chrome radiator grille etc. The mid level variant of the car comes with some advanced features such as ABS with EBD and BA, push button engine start and many more. The XV variant also has some exciting features including piano black color scheme on the central console, passenger air bags, rear window defroster, rear wiper, engine immobilizer with alarm, ORVMs, upper glove box, multi function steering wheel etc.

The final variant Micra Diesel XV premium is the high end version offering a class leading mileage along with a thrilling set of features such as fog lights, rear spoiler, rear view camera, chrome finish on inside door handles, Bluetooth hands free, auto anti dazzling room mirror with display and several other advanced features. The seats of all the models are wrapped with high class upholstery and they are really comfortable with adjustment facility, ample knee room, leg room, shoulder room etc.

Depending upon the models the wheels may vary in which the entry and mid-level versions comes with a set of 14 inch steel wheels of size 14x5.5J. These steel wheels are of tubeless radial tyres with a size 165/70 R14 providing good grip on the roads. While the high end variants comes with a newly designed 15 inch alloy wheels of size 15 x5.5 J and tire size of 175/60 R15 suited for any terrain. The braking system of the car is too good in which it has been fitted with a ventilated disc brakes for the front wheels, while the rear end gets drum brakes for efficient braking. In addition, the safety features of Nissan Micra includes engine immobilizer, driver, co-passenger as well as side airbags and many more.
