Mahindra Scrambler, a lightweight upcoming bike showcased at the Auto Expo Event 2014 which is expected to be priced around Rs.55,000. The company claims that their bike platforms are safe and reliable which would be a tough competitor to its similar other bikes.
Mahindra Scrambler is one of the light weight vehicle developed on the basis of Mahindra Centuro. It has omitted some features in order to get a light yet truly classic looking machine but it would satisfy the needs of the daily riders.
The new bike looks very aggressive wrapped in military green and it has a high silencer design with button tyres which is quite good. It has the option for the bikers to modify the bike according to their own interests by using the modifiers.
The Scrambler will come with a 12 V-35W/35W – halogen headlamp offering bright vision to the rider for night time ride. It gets a better gripping handle bar which will be very easy to handle the bike. The bike is very different from other light weight bikes with large fuel tank. The seating arrangement is also unique with comfortable seats. The rear end is offered with a LED tail light which is really useful and it also provides a 12V/6 Ah Maintenance Free battery.
The Mahindra Scrambler is powered by a Mci-5 engine with a displacement of around 107cc. The engine of the bike will deliver the maximum power of 8.5 BHP @ 7500 RPM in combination with the maximum torque of 8.5 NM @ 5500 RPM. It will have both electric and kick start option which is very useful for the rider to choose as per their wish.
The Mahindra Scrambler is expected to hold 12 litres of fuel and the engine of the bike is mated to the four speed gear box with a wet multi-plate clutch for convenient ride. The new bike has been designed with a double cradle steel tubular structure.
For better safety, the new Scrambler will have a disc brake at the front and drum brake at the rear for sudden braking of the vehicle even riding at high level of speed. On the other hand, the vehicle features an upside down forks at the front suspension where as monoshock at the rear suspension which is easy to handle the vehicle in an efficient manner. The bike will be fitted with an aluminium wheel rims which is quite good.
