Hyundai Elantra Review

The Elantra, from a specific viewpoint, appears somewhat pointless in Hyundai's line-up. It's not a high-volume vender like any of the hatchbacks, it's not the lead of the range as that post has a place with the Santa Fe and at a comparative cost, and the Creta SUV has significantly more interest to generally purchasers.

In addition, the official vehicle section has for quite a while been stalling, with moderate deals and just a modest bunch of carmakers as yet staying it out. However, Hyundai has propelled a fresh out of the plastic new Elantra, which sounds somewhat abnormal when you understand the facelift of the last-era car was propelled just 16 months prior.

Color Options

Hyundai Elantra is accessible in 5 distinct hues - Mariana Blue, Phantom Black, Polar White, Red Passion, and Sleek Silver.

Dimensions

The new Hyundai Elantra is slightly longer than the outgoing car at 4,570mm, 5mm more in width (1,800mm) and lowers in height (1,470mm) by 5mm. The ground clearance too is lower by 2mm at 165mm.

Design and Style

This is the primary Hyundai in quite a while that isn't an enormous visual takeoff from, but instead a development of, its antecedent. The cab-forward shape and coupé-like curved roofline may be similar to the previous cars, but everything else is all new – this is Fluidic Sculpture 2.0, Hyundai’s newest design language. At the front, there is a wide hexagonal chrome grille and there’s even a hint of Jaguar’s ‘J-Blade’ signature in the LED running lamps. The smaller, slimmer tail-lamps with their distinct LED signatures give a much better sense of width, as do the wide LED strips on the bumper.

The front wheels, of course, use independent, MacPherson struts. The chassis now uses more high-strength steel than before – 53 percent versus 21 percent – resulting in a 30 percent increase in stiffness, which should dramatically help ride and handling.

Engine Specification

It uses a new 2.0 litre Nu petrol engine. The four cylinders, 16 valve engines comes with dual variable valve timing and is capable of churning out 150bhp, that is 3.4bhp more than its predecessor. The torque figure too has gone up by 14.5Nm and now stands at 192Nm, which makes it more powerful than the 1.8-litre motor. The power is transferred to the wheels via a 6-speed automatic or a 6-speed manual transmission, but we got behind the 6-speed torque convertor.

Braking and Handling

Here's the truly great thing about the new Elantra. It no longer feels delicately sprung, a characteristic we have since quite a while ago connected with Hyundais.

While the petrol motor car is has a decent ride and taking care of adjust, the diesel is stunningly better considering that I am driving with just a single individual on-board. The heaver engine forthright gives better damping and the car feels more planted on the landing area. With plate brakes doing obligation on each of the four wheels, the car rouses certainty under braking and after that there is dependably ABS and ESP to hold control under crisis braking and path change circumstances which I thought I would experience different circumstances on the swarmed Chennai-Pondicherry interstate.

Infotainment

The Elantra’s 8.0 inch touchscreen is one of the best in house systems we have tested. Navigation is a given, as are Bluetooth, USB and Aux input, and displaying the feed from the rear camera, but it also gets Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The graphics are large, clear and easy to see on the move, and most of the menus are accessible by physical buttons and knobs, so you don’t have to rely solely on tapping the screen to use it. The six-speaker sound framework is shockingly powerful as well, because of the Arkamys programming that runs it. This unit is really one of the Elantra's highlights.

Verdict

Generally speaking, the Elantra makes for an exceptionally pleasant bundle as far as the item and in addition the possession encounter. It comes stacked with components and is an alluring plan, both on the outside and within. What's more, for the individuals who are worried about security, the automatics with the alternative pack accompany six airbags in addition to other safety features.
