Ford, One of the leading manufacturer has introduced its new Sports Utility Vehicle known as Endeavour. It is one of the most famous SUV packed with stylish appearance, world class luxuries, modern safety features along with powerful and high performance engine. The new car comes with the high performance engine for better power and torque.

Ford Endeavour Models and Prices

Ford Endeavour has four diesel models and there is no petrol model available for the car. The diesel models along with the price details are described below

Ford Endeavour Engine Details

The Ford Endeavour comes with two various engine capacities namely

1) 2.5L Duratorq Diesel engine
2) 3.0L Duratorq Diesel engine

 Since the engine is two, but the car has three variants in which two are of 2.5L and the other variant comes with 3.0L diesel engine. The two variants are powered with a 2.5L, Duratorq TDCi diesel engine with Direct Injection Common Rail fuel injection system and Variable Geometry Turbocharger offering the displacement of 2499 cc delivering maximum power of 143 PS @ 3500 RPM and maximum torque of 330 NM @ 1800 RPM helps in high engine performance with good acceleration. The third variant is incorporated with a 3.0L, Duratorq TDCi diesel engine with Direct Injection Common Rail Fuel Injection System and Variable Geometry Turbocharger technology. This engine delivers the displacement of nearly 2953 cc generating maximum power of 156 PS @ 3200 RPM and maximum torque of about 380 NM @ 2500 RPM. Both engines are mated with a five speed manual transmission gearbox which ensures great performance with excellent acceleration. The third variant of the car comes with four wheel drive option improves the ridability at off-road conditions.

Acceleration, Mileage and Fuel Economy

Ford Endeavour is well known for its excellent acceleration, mileage and fuel efficiency. Two variants with 2.5L diesel engine can cross the barrier 0-100 kmph in just 13.9 seconds with the maximum speed of 156 kmph and it can generate a healthy mileage of about 9.6 kmpl in city and 13.8 kmpl on highways. Its another model going to launch very soon with automatic transmission gearbox can cross the 100 kmph in just 15.2 seconds with expecting maximum speed of 152 kmph and it can be able to deliver a mileage of 8.9 kmpl in city and 13.2 kmpl on highways. Another engine 3.0L diesel engine with manual transmission can touch 100 kmph in just 13 seconds with the top speed of 149 kmph generating the mileage 9 kmpl in city and 12.8 kmpl on highway and its similar another variant with automatic transmission can touch 0-100 kmph in just 14.2 seconds with the maximum speed of 145 kmph and it delivers a mileage around 8.3 kmpl in city and 12.4 kmpl on highways.

Design and Engineering

Interiors of Ford Endeavour

Ford Endeavour is very perfect in terms of its interior features, comfort and measurements. It comes with dual tone ebony dash board fitted with an advanced graphic instrument cluster. The interiors are very stylish and attractive with wooden finished panels, leather seats, leather covered gear knob and steering wheels. The Endeavour holds Dual Tone Ebony and Camel Interior Environment, Titanium Finish on the Instrument Panel, Plush Leather Upholstery etc. The car is very comfortable and spacious with features such as second row 50:50 split reclining and double folding seat, foldable and removable third row seat, height adjustable driver and co-driver seat belts, electrically adjustable side rear view mirror etc. It is possible to accommodate seven passengers and it possess climate control AC with HVAC and AC vents including second and third row, an independent control for rear AC. Along with this, the other interiors features such as Cigarette Lighter, Clutch Foot Rest, Removable Ash Tray, Three 12V Power Sockets, Tilted Power Steering, Power Windows, Keyless entry, rear washer and wiper, rear defogger, front centre arm-rest with storage bin, Dual Sun Glass Holders, cup holders, large glove box, remote fuel cap release and many more. For entertainment during the long journey, the car comes with an integrated music system with six speakers, DVD system with LCD screen etc.

Exteriors of Ford Endeavour

For any vehicle, the exterior appearance is very important which attracts the people in just a glance and makes to buy the car. Ford also done their great job in designing the exteriors of Endeavour. While looking at the front view, the exteriors are very aggressive and dynamic with bonnet, front grille, headlamps, fog lamps and anti-glare rear view mirror. Moving to the side profile, the car looks very stunning and muscular with its stylish aluminium side stepper, front and rear gate scuff plates, thunder decals, side cladding with dual tone painting, roof rails etc. Regarding the wheels, the car is designed with 16 inch light weight stylish alloy wheels offering sportive looks. The wheels are of puncture resistant radial tubeless tyres providing great off-roading capability with the tire size of 245/70 R16. The company makes the rear very trendy and gorgeous with the features includes tail gate scuff plates, combination lamps, lockable wheel cover, rear ladder, spoiler with brake lamp etc. In addition to the above features, the car holds clear lens head lamps, chrome finish radiator grille, silver wheel arch moldings, roof rails, aluminium side stepper, grab type door handles and deck-lid handle of chrome finish, bumper over-rider, rear ladder, thunder decal, turn indicator and puddle lamp on ORVM. The external dimensions includes 4998 mm length, 1789 mm width and 1836 mm height. The wheelbase of the car is about 2860 mm and the ground clearance is 210 mm. All these features makes the car an ideal one.

Braking and Handling

Ford has not disappoint in braking and handling system of the car. The front wheels of the Endeavour is fitted with a large ventilated disc brakes where as the rear wheels are packed with the self adjusted drum brakes which de-accelerate the car very quickly. It comes with the other advanced braking technology such as Anti Lock Braking System with EBD which is more convenient ensuring that the car won’t skid out of control in case of emergency braking and improves safety.

Ford Endeavour Owner Review

The new Ford Endeavour Thunder + has a lot of additional features than its older brother. It is bigger and resembles a truck. It has a rear spoiler which seems out of place. The rear ladder reaffirms point number one. Additionally ABS, EBD and traction control are included in the already long safety list. All this makes the car an even better off roader but worse on the road.

Ford Endeavour Owner Review

It’s expensive. It doesn’t look great. There is little in terms of mileage. It takes a regular gym session to handle it in traffic and it’s as loud as a lorry on the highway. So why do people buy the Endeavour? To know the answer one must take it on a trip to a nearby forest or mountain. The Endeavour shows that it is a better car than many off roaders on the road. It just fails to give up and pushes harder than you do.
