Bajaj Pulsar SS400 Review

Bajaj Pulsar SS400, a distant cousin of the RC 390 has been unveiled at the Auto Expo Event which may be available with a price range of around 1.9 lakhs to 2.1 lakhs. The bike is also known as Super Sport 400 and it would be a complete value for money in terms of style, performance and practicability.

The Bajaj Pulsar SS400 looks very royal and trendy while compared to its previous version with its awesome features. The front is decorated with a halogen headlamp and a mudguard mounted tail light for better vision during night time. The front also has a clip-on handle bars for easy handling of the bike.

The front fairing of the bike adds more style along with faux air intake ahead of the large tank. It boasts a decent instrument panel with digital instruments like fuel guage, speedometer, tachometer and trip meter. The full faired Bajaj Pulsar SS400 is fitted with a Metzeler Tyres which is quite impressive.

The Pulsar SS400 is provided with a maintenance free battery in order to power all the electricals. The new bike comes with a split type seating arrangement which separates the rider and pillion space and it is perfect bike for travelling long hours. Some of the important features of the Pulsar SS400 includes low fuel indicator, low oil indicator, low battery indicator, pass light and stand alarm option.

The Bajaj Pulsar SS400 is powered by a 373.2cc, 4 Stroke, Liquid-Cooled, Triple Spark, Single Cylinder Fuel Injected engine which churns out the maximum power of 44 BHP @ 9500 RPM and maximum torque of 35 NM @ 7250 RPM. The engine of the bike is mated to the six speed transmission for smooth and comfort ride. It has the option of electric start type which is easy for the rider to start the vehicle.

The Pulsar SS400 is very easy to handle with the front telescopic suspension and monoshock rear suspension which is quite good. Similarly, the braking is also good with disc brakes at both the front and rear. The front brake of the bike comes with a diameter of 300 mm while the rear comes with a 230 mm diameter.

Additionally, the bike gets an advanced braking technology known as AntiLock Braking System as standard helps to enhance the braking feature of the Pulsar SS400. These braking and suspension systems helps in ensuring the high stable performance on ride.
