Jun 10, 2005 - Bajaj Auto rolled out its new cruiser bike segment christened as “Avenger” with DTS-i technology priced at Rs.60,000. The new Bajaj Avenger is incorporated with ExausTEC feature for generating low end torque. The vibrations has been removed at the handlebar and foot-pegs are also very comfortable. Bajaj informed that the Avenger is the technology showcase for the entire two-wheeler industry. The Bajaj Avenger is suitable for Indian road conditions.

Review

The Bajaj Avenger is a great hit in Indian Market and it comes with 220cc DTS-i technology engine. The Avenger Bajaj is a smart bike which is available in four stunning colours. This has been designed with a lot of attractive and latest features. The new Bajaj Avenger provides good performance and handling.

Engine

The Bajaj Avenger is powered by a 4-Stroke, Single Cylinder, Air-Cooled along with Oil-Cooler engine with a displacement of 219.89cc. The engine discharges the peak power of 19.03 @ 8400 rpm and torque of 17.5Ps @ 7000 rpm. As well as the bike possess the electric starting option.

Appearance and Engineering

The Bajaj Avenger is one of the superb bike in the Indian market which is designed to furnish exciting features. The Avenger Bajaj is having an elegant and gorgeous appearance. The front part of the bike possess a beautiful headlamp, Push button indicator cancellation, low battery level indicator which makes easy and convenient to ride the bike at any time. The Bajaj Avenger is packed with the new technology of DTS-I (Digital Twin Spark Ignition) Engine which supports twin spark plug instead of single spark. This inventive engine enhance the power and mileage of the bike. The Digital CDI is combined with DTS-I for spark delivery which enhance the performance of the bike. The ExhausTEC is a device fitted in the exhaust system of Avenger in which TEC stands for Torque Expansion Chamber which enriches the scavenging process. The bike is embedded with a beautifully sculpted tank along with chrome plating. The fuel tank capacity of the bike is about 14 litres.

The Bajaj Avenger is designed with low, height and broad saddle seat which gives a forward foot riding posture for the driver. Also it has a special backrest for the pillion which ensures safety and comfortable for both the rider and the pillion. A Short Silencer is present in the bike which gives a less strained and refined sound. The Avenger has front disc brakes of bigger size and improved rear brake arrangement which gives confidence and safety while riding. The wheels are wider with multi spoke chrome plated wheels and the wheelbase of the bike is 1475mm. The ground clearance of the bike is 169mm and the kerb weight of the bike is 154.5kg. The Bajaj Avenger is a comfort on any type of road.
