AC Cars has revealed its most recent embodiment of the classic Cobra. Adding, it’s termed MKVI and has a Corvette engine and Porsche brakes.

Further, AC Cars has tied into a “long-term strategic alliance” with German company Gullwing GmbH, which will be structuring the new cars at its plant in Heyda.

And with a part-aluminium body positioned over a triangulated, jig-welded spaceframe framework the MKVI will be manually. Adding, one engine will be provided, a Corvette 6.2-litre V8, with 437bhp for the GT and 647bhp for the GTS.

The performance should be imposing with a kerbweight of 1025kg and the company quotes a 0-62mph time for the GTS of just 3.3 seconds. Less information is identified about correct suspension settings, AC Cars plainly saying it will be “race-derived but rightfully tailored to be road submissive”.

Moreover, the Porsche four-pot brakes with vented discs – 332mm front, 298mm rear – present the stopping clout. The cars will facilitate an “opulent and comfortable” interior with German carpets and leather conceals.

Also, AC utters that the MKVI is based on the Le Mans-winning Cobra and facilitates an incorporated lightweight hardtop.

Petite gullwings beyond the doors lift up for effortless access, even though the car can also be utilized as a complete convertible.
