Hyundai i30 in Malaysia

The Hyundai i30, a C-segment contender is now in Malaysia.

The i10 is Hyundai’s first model in Malaysia to have the ‘i’ naming scheme. The i30 comes in the platform of cars like the cee’d and the upcoming Forte. Three variants of i30, the i30 1.6 manual, i30 1.6 automatic and i30 2.0 automatic are sold in Malaysia.

The 1.6 liter engine produces a power of 121 PS at 6,200rpm and a maximum torque of 154Nm at 4,200rpm. The 2.0 liter unit produces a power of 143 PS at 6,000rpm and a maximum torque of 186Nm at 4,600rpm.

The 5-speed manual version the 1.6 variant gets 15 inch wheels with 185/65R15 tyres. The 1.6 automatic variant gets 16 inch wheels with 205/55R16 tyres. The 2.0 automatic variant gets 17 inch wheels with 225/45R17 tyres. The wheelbase of the car is 2,650mm wheelbase. The suspension system is provided with MacPherson struts at the front and a multi-link suspension setup at the rear.

All the variants are equipped with 2 SRS airbags at the front as well as ABS brakes. Aditionaly, the 2.0 liter automatic gets ESP stability control. Hyundai offers a 5 year or 300,000km warranty.
