Battery swap for electric Renaults

From the year 2011 the electric cars of Renault-Nissan is entering into the sales in Europe. Adding, they have come up with three different ways with which the electric vehicles can be recharged.

It is provided with two types of charger or the users can switch their batteries in special “quick drop” exchange stations.

The facilities that are provided by the charger will be of either a standard service or a fast service. Adding in the standard it will take four to eight hours to completely top off a battery and in the fast charge within a time of 290 minutes it will allow an 80 % charge.

The final choice is that to exchange your exhausted battery for a wholly charged one. Also, Renault-Nissan stated that it will take just three minutes to swap it.

In order to reduce the cost of the vehicles the company has decided to lease the batteries in its electric vehicles to customers. Further the company added that the operating costs will balance positively with that of a gasoline or diesel-powered car which is identical in size.

Further the charging stations will not be controlled by it. As an alternative, public and private businesses or local organizations will have it.

Adding, similar to the mobile phone the bill is payable and for a fixed fee the users can have for a number of miles. Beyond the predefined one for additional miles additional cost should be paid by the users.

The Kangoo Z.E concept van is going to be the production version for the initial Renault-Nissan’s electric vehicles. For Israeli market alone an electric Megane saloon will be there. Furthermore, with a small stand-alone hatchback Nissan will begin trading electric cars in the year 2012 in Europe.
