‘Reliability and Safety’ should be the key factors while purchasing a car of this pedigree…

Chevrolet Aveo is a decent car (comes with luring discounts etc…) but still failed miserably due to it’s on the road performance, company’s worsening image and it’s cheap under-the-hood used material and negligible resale value! The only point where Aveo scores is it’s looks… Very up-market looks… However, you just cannot plan to buy a car only on the basis of it’s looks… do you? Further, you will never be certain of GM’s future!!!

Now comes Honda Jazz… a fantastic Japanese car… It is crafted for the people who really needs quality and not the quantity… Looking at it’s sales figure, you can easily judge that it was never meant for the Indian customers… We the people in India needs a car like i20 or Manza or Figo or Micra or SX4 with so many accessories in a limited budget and then we feel happy… In this process we tend to ignore the quality!!! Honda Jazz is sheer quality!!!

Once you own a Honda Jazz, you get this feeling that you are sitting in something special… which is designed only for YOU!!!

The other cars (hatchs and saloons) like Polo, i20, SX4, Tata Manza, Aveo LT, DZire etc… etc… comes with an image problem also… If you happen to buy a top variant of Polo or i20 for let’s say 7.00Lac and somebody in your locality has another variant of the same car for 4.00Lac… then rest of your life you will spend in explaining to the others that your car is better than his and his is cheap because he bought a lower variant and so forth (because all the variants of these cars look exactly similar)… Now, where is the feel good factor of your car? You spent a 7.00Lac rupees for a car and even then you have to explain to the others and even to your unconscious mind that you have a better car than your neighbour…

My belief is that, if you are spending that much on a car, then that car must show it itself… If you buy a Honda Jazz… people will automatically come to know that this is a real premium car… Finally, once you sit in a Honda Jazz, you will immediately have a feeling that not many people around you have the luxury to afford it…

In India, we have the tendency to downgrade anything if we can’t afford it… We generally ignore the quality that comes for the extra price that we pay… Honda Jazz is just too fantastic a car to be compared with any other car in this price range… Please see the NDTV comparison (show) and Zee TV show of 26 fantastic cars from India where Honda Jazz came on the top even beating the likes of Beetle, Polo, i20 etc… etc… You can find it in Youtube.

There are 3 minor issues with Honda Jazz (not one as you have rightly pointed out):
        1. Middle Seat is little uncomfortable – Yes, that’s true!
        2. Ride quality is not very smooth when compared to let’s say of Polo…
        3. You have to tune yourself to keep the car in a power band of 2000-3500RPM…

Otherwise, Rear leg space is awesome. Engine is very very refined… you will hardly notice it running… it’s just too silent. Dashboard is excellently designed… The inbuilt music system with SVC technology is great!!! It’s overall a better package than it’s competitors. Boot space in Jazz is phenomenal – 320L – The best in the class! It’s much better looking than any other… as it could spin many heads around.

        Further, it is HONDA! :-)
