Lamborghini - the Italian automaker was founded in 1963 by Ferrucio Lamborghini. Recently, it has become a subsidiary of German car maker Audi AG which in turn is a subsidiary of the Volkswagen Group since 1998. Lamborghini is well known for its slender luxury cars which could act as a status symbol.
The company had suffered tougher times in its past and had been bankrupt once in its history. It has had several transfer of ownerships and now the ownership vests with the Audi – the famous subsidiary of Volkswagen. The luxurious Italian is a competitor to its native inhabitant 'Ferrari'.
