The new Safari Storme of Tata Motors has been unveiled at the 2012 Delhi Auto Expo. Based on the X2 platform of Tata, the new Safari features an all-new styling. The car holds a lot of new features and specifications. It is powered by a 2.2-litre common rail DiCOR engine which churns out a maximum power of 140bhp at 4000rpm and 320Nm of peak torque at 1700-2700rpm. The engine is mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. The upgraded features of the car include a new grill, projector headlamps and the bonnet with a power bulge. The Safari Storme holds a spacious interior with a better fit and finish. The luxurious beige seats, leather-wrapped steering wheel, wood-accented dashboard and door trims decorates the interior of the new Storme. Safari’s rear part sports a chrome-tipped exhaust and a new, half greyed-out tailgate with the spare tyre. The car holds ABS and EBD as its safety features. Its salient features include the ground clearance of 200mm and the turning radius of 5.4m. No doubt, in the performance wise, the new Safari Storme will definitely be a winner. The expected price tag is Rs.9 to 10 lakhs.
