Finally Indian Government has decided to move towards safety and make Indian roads more child friendly. The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has decided to make \u201cbaby seats\u201d compulsory for all passenger cars from 2010.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis is a long pending step and will be introduced in Indian vehicles for the first time. The idea is to create a safe and designated space for children in cars. Across Europe and USA, besides other countries like Australia, \u2018Child Restraint Systems\u2019 (CRS) is mandatory in all vehicles. So the ministry has decided it\u2019s time for such an initiative to be taken in India as well,\u201d said a top official from the ministry. \u201cThe planned implentation schedule is two years for new car models and three years for existing models. This will also be introduced for commercial goods vehicles and passenger buses,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n
