Bajaj Auto Limited plans to launch its third off-road bike Duke in India and Brazil.Bajaj Auto in association with its Austrian ally KTM Power Sports will launch the Duke in India.The Duke will feature an engine displacement of 125cc.
Rajiv bajaj,the Managing Director of Bajaj Auto claimed that the debut in the Brazilian market – where 20 lakh bikes are sold annually – may see launch of Pulsar and Discover depending upon the response to the Duke brand.He added that the entry of Duke in Brazil will be followed by investment in marketing and setting up dealership networks there.
Duke is being currently manufactured at Bajaj’s Chakan plant for the export market.Regarding this,Rajiv quoted that Duke is 90 per cent localized. They have exported 1,700-1,800 Duke bikes so far to Austria and some European countries.We can expect Duke in our country by this year end.
