The sources revealed that Mahindra and Mahindra is about to launch three products next year,out of which two are sub-4 meter compact SUV.This statement was made by PTI,Dr.Pawan Goenka,Executive Director of MAhindra & Mahindra.These two models code named S101 and U301 are under testing.Similar to the hatchbacks like the Maruti Swift and Polo,S101 would also come under the hood of B-segment,however there is a new revelation that the design traits and seating position of the SUV would be crossover.Moreover,S101 is expected to be built over a new three-cylinder petrol and diesel engines based on a monocoque platform(the second monocoque for Mahindra after the XUV500) and could receive an automated manual transmission.Getting a typical SUV design cues on a boxy shape this test mule U301 will be a replacement for the current Bolero in the market.Further to provide a true off -roadability and ruggedness,a hydro-framed ladder frame chassis would likely to be introduced in the U301.Apart from these SUV,there is a product left unsaid,that is identified to be a commercial vehicle which could be P601(codename).It has spied many a times.Besides to the launch of these products,we might expect the Mahindra to launch an AMT-equipped Quanto and a Scorpio AT and XUV500 Hybrid.
